ALEXANDER MCBRIDE
Artist Painter-Boalsburg, PA
E-mail: amcbride@mcbstudio.com
McBride moved from New England to Central Pennsylvania in 1970. He has worked professionally since the 1960's. Even though his work has evolved over time, Sandy's paintings have remained spiritually symbolic in style. By using a rich color palette to create a feeling of light and space, he invents symbols that avoid familiar clichés. His work captures the energy of the human spirit in both its emotional as well as its religious view of the contemporary world's confusion.
McBride has been teaching painting and drawing at the college level since 1964. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, 1962) and Cornell University (MFA, 1964)
McBride works professionally in three additional media: drawing, photography and computer graphics/illustration. For more information and to see more of his work, visit his website at: http://mcbstudio.com/resume.php
