As the holiday season gears up, come and learn how to make
clever, unusual ornaments
using a variety of materials. You might craft the perfect keepsake for a
special person or
even create a new family favorite.
Cost: $25
Holiday Gift Workshop FULL -- we are accepting a
waiting list
Saturday, December 17, 2 - 5 pm
Last minute gift-giving will not be a problem. This
workshop will yield unique frames,
jewelry, and other small crafts all ready for surprising friends and
family alike. Homemade
gift wrap will be the perfect finishing touch! While parents are busy with
their last minute
errands the kids will be busy too.

Through the Looking Glass
Saturday, November 5, 1 - 4 pm
This lesson in self-portraiture will teach tools for
producing a realistic image and get
kids thinking in creative, new ways about representation. Pablo Picasso,
Salvador Dali,
Rene Magritte, Andy Warhol, and David Hockney will serve as inspiration as
the kids
develop work that reflects not only what they see in the looking glass,
but all the things
that they don't.

Workshops for Teens:
Fused Glass Ornaments
Monday, November 28, 1 - 4 pm
Saturday, December
3, 2 - 5 pm FULL
Join Pernille Sporon Boving for an afternoon and
create beautiful fused glass
keepsake ornaments. Not only to be hung on holiday trees - they look
stunning in
windows all year long! All tools and materials provided.
Minimum age is 13 years old.
Cost: $30
Earlier:
Realist Drawing - 4 weeks
Artist Veronica Winters will teach a drawing class for
teens on Mondays,
4:30 - 6:30 pm for 4 weeks, October 10 - November 7 (no class Oct.
31).
All experience levels welcome.

Adult/Child Joint Workshop
Let's Work Together Art Workshop
Saturday, November 19, 1 - 3 pm
Adult and child art workshop taught by Michele Rivera which
will foster creativity and
cooperation. You will work on both an individual and a partnership project
of mixed medium.
Supplies and peanut-free snack provided. Just bring the two of you and
dive in!
Cost:$45 per pair - Limit 6 pairs

Teacher Bios
Paloma Frumento: A recent graduate of Columbia
University, Paloma has spent time
teaching art both in Harlem and Ecuador! She brings her love for art
education to our
program, along with her enthusiasm and projects.
Michele Rivera: Michele is the founder of Artistic
Horizon Art Center and the Bears
That Care program. She is originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. but left the city to
raise her
children in Happy Valley. She graduated from The School of Visual Arts at
Penn State
and Kingsborough Community College in New York. Michele works in ceramics,
metals
and watercolors
Veronica Winters: Veronica is a Russian fine artist who graduated with her
MFA
degree in painting from Penn State in 2005. She is devoted to full-time
work in studio
painting and drawing, concentrating on high quality production of artwork.
She gives
private art lessons to both children and adults. Her native country is
always a source of
cultural inspiration and contrasting values. Veronica lives in State
College with her
husband and son enjoying the views and lifestyle of the country.Her
gallery is

Pernille Sporon Boving: Pernille has worked in the
fused glass technique for many
years, continuously exploring the medium, its limits and more interesting
its endless
possibilities. Her ties to her home country of Denmark are a strong sense
of inspiration.
Adam Swartz: Adam has a BA in Integrative Arts from
PSU. He has taught acting and
visual arts for Centre Learning Community Charter School. Adam has
traveled the country
with the Itinerant Theatre Company and Middle Earth Studios.
