Bob Baumbach
A retired high school art teacher from State College, Bob taught many mediums
and started the high school photography program over twenty years ago. He has
seen the photo program at State High through the digital revolution. He has
taught crafts, drawing and painting and has taught adult education watercolor
classes for the State College Community Education Program. You can review Bob's

Jim Bright
Jim earned a BS in Art Education and an MA in Sculpture from Indiana University
of Pennsylvania. He did graduate studies at Penn State before traveling to Lucca,
Italy, where he studied traditional stone carving techniques. Jim is a working
sculptor who recently retired from the Mifflin County School System. He uses
bronze, marble, hardwood, and clay to represent ideas about human activities and
interactions. His work can be found at Lynden Gallery, Elizabethtown, or the Art
Association of Harrisburg.
Terry Johnson
After obtaining her MFA in 1981, Terry began her tile making career as a studio
production artist selling her work in galleries and shops in the U.S., England,
and Japan. Terry has been an arts specialist for the Southern Alleghenies Museum
and the Galaxy program.
Jennifer Kane
Jennifer, a native of Southern Illinois, holds a BFA in Painting and MFA in
Costume Design for Theatre from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana. She
has participated and won prizes in many regional juried art shows, including Art
of the State in Harrisburg and the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.
She has a successful business selling her own work, which she started in 1999.

Laura Winn Kane
Laura holds a BA in Drawing and Painting from the State University of New York
College at Plattsburgh, NY, and a MFA in Painting from Rochester Institute of
Technology in Rochester, NY. She has lived and created art in Centre County
since 1995. Laura's drawings and paintings have been exhibited and won awards

Ruth Kempner
Ruth, a New York native, holds a fine arts degree from Cooper Union. She has
studied at NYU, Yale, PSU, and the Rhode Island School of Design. She lived in
Clearfield for almost 30 years before moving to State College. Her paintings
have won awards in many juried shows throughout Pennsylvania, including the
prestigious CPFA "Images." Ruth has also served as a juror for a number of
Central Pennsylvania shows.
Blake Ketchum.
Blake's work includes portraiture, architectural ornament, iconography, and
scientific models. Her work has been commissioned by Yale, Cornell, University
of Michigan, many science centers, theaters, and the International Special
Olympics. Blake earned a B.F.A. from the University of Michigan, a M.S. in
Forestry, and a Ph.D. in Soil Science. See her work at

Isabel Kumerz
Isabel is a Spanish painter living in State College, PA. She holds a BA degree
in graphic Design from the Kunstschule Alsterdam, Hamburg, Germany and a MFA
from Indiana University of PA. Before relocating to State College, she owned and
operated Win & Ken Graphic Design Studios in Barcelona, Spain for twelve years.
Isabel has been teaching art at Penn State, the Art Alliance of Central PA, and
Indiana University since 2001. Her work has received awards and has been
exhibited internationally
Jeff Mathison
Jeff received his BFA from Penn State in 1972 and has been the graphic artist
for A&H consultants for twenty years. His artwork has been exhibited in many

Ken Plattner
Ken is a stained glass artist who has worked in the area since 1977. He started
producing stained glass to help pay for his engineering studies at Penn State,
but decided that glasswork was what he really wanted to do. Ken has taught in
the area for many years. His business, Abbey Stained Glass, is located on Main
Street in Boalsburg. His works are installed worldwide and seen in numerous
public and private places locally.
Mary Cady Rubinstein
Mary holds a BFA in Art from the University of Texas and an MFA from Iowa State
University. She also studied at the Art Student League in NYC. Highly recognized
as a sculptor, she has taught figure drawing at Penn State and the Art Alliance
since 1974.
Linda Schimmel
Linda studied art and interior design at Florida State University, pastels at
the Grena Studios, and oil portraiture at the Gosnel Studios. She works as a
portrait artist in either pastel or oil. Her subjects are primarily people, but
occasionally she has requests for animal portraits. Her award-winning pastels
and oils are included in private collections on the East Coast and in
California. Linda also serves as a docent at the Palmer Museum.
Veronica Winters
Veronica is a native of Moscow, Russia. She graduated with a B.B.A.in management
with honors from the Institute of International Business Education (Moscow) and
the University of Tulsa. She earned a B.F.A. with honors in studio art from
Oklahoma State University and a M.F.A. degree in painting from Penn State. She
works full-time in studio painting and drawing. Her work is in collections in
both the United States and Russia and this summer was juried into the 2007 Three
Rivers Arts Festival Artist Market Emerging Artists Program. Her gallery, with
