After retiring from
Penn State University in 1999, Judith began painting at the Art
Alliance in Lemont, PA. Since then, she has been privileged to show her
work in juried shows
such as the Images Show of the Central PA Festival of the Arts, the Three
Rivers Art Festival,
the Susquehanna River Art Center, Art in Common, and the regional art
exhibition of the
Williamsport-Lycoming Arts Council, as well as in The Pennsylvania State
University and
other public spaces such as Schlow Library, the Nittany Medical Center, Foxdale
Village,
Zola’s Bistro in State College, the Gamble Mill in Bellefonte, and Julie’s Coffee
Shop
in Williamsport.
Judith
is drawn to watercolor because she loves the way in which the paints develop a
life
of their own, exploding and recombining on the page. She also loves to
experiment with color
to
create bold and bright designs – above all, she is amazed by the infinite
variety of patterns
and colors in the simple things that surround us – a flower, a leaf, a teacup. It
is this wealth of
beauty that she hopes to share with you.
