                             Art Classes for Teens

                                 Children's Inservice Days 

        

     Our most recent Inservice days were March 27 & 28, April 1. Additional days will be
              scheduled in September.

             YEAR-ROUND ART SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN

                        
 

         The Spring Session of our Year-round Art School for children began on April 15.
 Classes are held 4:30- 6:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for seven weeks.
 Each student attends class once each week on the day assigned to his or her age group.
 
          In this program, students are divided by age and attend class once a week
 after school. Ages 6-8 attend on Mondays from 4 -5:30 pm; ages 8-12 attend  on
 Tuesdays from 4- 6 pm;; and ages 7-9 attend on Thursdays 4:30 - 6:30 pm . Classes
 are limited to 8 children in the youngest group and 10 children in the other two groups.

         On Friday, June 7 students will be exhibiting their work in the Art Alliance Art Center
 in a Children's Exhibition. In preparation for the exhibition, we will be working on a
 collective painting to be revealed during the opening of the Exhibition. As well, we will be
 producing a video highlighting your children’s artistic abilities, also to be revealed on the
 big day! In preparation for the painting of their self-portraits we will also work this session
 on facial features. It will be an exciting and productive session and we hope you choose
 this art experience for your children.

        Ana Peters, our instructor, has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has previously
 run similar programs in Mexico and at the Livingston Art Center Home of Genesee Valley
 Council on the Arts in Mount Morris, N.Y. She taught several of our camp weeks this summer
 as well as a pastel workshop. She has studied drawing, oil painting, acrylics and pastels as
 well as taken courses in Creativity Development and Mixed Media.
