Spring Colors Studio Tour 2018

You are invited to spend a beautiful spring weekend…

Come out and meet artists in their workspaces and enter their world where colors, shapes, materials and textures merge into unique and collectible works of art. You will learn techniques while watching hands-on demonstrations and have the opportunity to shop for original artwork for yourself or a gift. More than 27 of the area’s finest artists working in a variety of media have opened their studios for this self-guided tour. The event is free to the public.

The Crooked House will display a retrospective, tracing the project’s unusual history from a conventional home renovation starting in 2002 to it’s evolution into a unique 60-ton concrete sculpture now under construction. Benjamin Fehl’s imaginative sketches, architectural design models, construction drawings, photographs, found artifacts, maps and many other items are on display. Refreshments will be served!

The Gallery Shop is a retail fine art and craft shop. Approximately 50 Central PA artists and craftspeople are represented. Each visit to the shop is a new experience as the works for sale are always changing.

Two artists will do demonstrations at the Gallery Shop: Steve Strouse, will be demonstrating ; Lena Thynell, PWS, PWCS, BWS, will demonstrate her watercolor painting. Kim Filkins will also be at the Gallery Shop to talk about her fused glass art.

Diane will be showing her nature-inspired dimensional paper collages which feature many of her own handmade papers. Michele Rivera graduated from Penn State's School of Visual Arts and works in ceramics, metals, and watercolors. She is founder of the Artistic Horizon art center and "Bears that Care" program in State College and currently teaches at Artistic Horizon, Art Alliance of PA, and PA Cyber School.
