Encaustic, painting with wax, is an ancient medium experiencing a resurgence as
artists explore its creative possibilities. The term literally means "to burn in" and
involves using pigmented wax on an absorbent but rigid surface to create layers that
are fused together. The resulting works are often abstract, can incorporate collage
materials and have an interested depth and translucency. This workshop will serve
as an introduction and opportunity to try a different artistic medium. Contact Anne with
 questions or for materials list.
